Creating an activity from the calendar
Click on a date
In week or month view, click on the date (or time slot in week view) when the activity occurred. The activity form opens with that date pre-filled.
Complete the activity form
Fill in the participant, support item, duration, and case note as you normally would. See Logging an activity for the full guide.
Calendar vs. Activities list
Both the calendar and the Activities list create the same activity records — it’s purely a matter of which view you prefer to work from. Some coordinators find the calendar helpful when reconstructing a busy day’s work after the fact.Calendar vs. Activities list — which to use
| Situation | Better tool |
|---|---|
| Reconstructing a day’s work from memory | Calendar (week view) — visual time layout helps recall what you did at each time of day |
| Finding a specific activity to edit | Activities list — faster to search and filter by participant or status |
| Checking you haven’t missed any days in a period | Calendar (month view) — empty days are visually obvious |
| Batch-submitting activities at end of week | Activities list — filter by Status = Draft, select all, submit |
| Reviewing how many hours you’ve logged this month | Activities list — export to CSV and sum the duration column |
| Logging a new activity for a specific day | Either — both open the activity form with the date pre-filled |
